See other Team MembersLarelle entered the produce industry over 20 years ago, just as technology was beginning its transition from “old school” to the “new school” digital formats that have become today’s standard. Riding this wave of change helped her grow with the industry and learn how to work with veterans and newcomers alike. Working for some of California’s largest shippers of asparagus, apples and cherries, and being mentored by some of the most respected leaders in produce gave Larelle the unique perspective she now brings to her role as Sales Manager for Rivermaid Trading Company.
Working closely with our ag staff to gather vital crop information, Larelle develops our sales plans and directs our sales staff in implementing it. At the same time, she assists our retail partners with crop updates and promotional planning, while playing an important role in developing and executing our commodity marketing plan. If that sounds a bit frenetic, that’s just how Larelle likes it:
“I absolutely love chaos! I grew up in a large family and mundane doesn’t work for me,” she says. “I love the diverse nature of the crop as well as the people I work with. I love talking to a grower about his crop to gain first-hand information when I’m talking to the retail buyer or an export customer. I love being part of a team where everyone works to balance the needs of the grower community with the needs of the retail community. I have to be on my ‘A’ game because every day is a challenge – and if you’re not being challenged, you’re not improving.”
When she’s not immersed in her duties for Rivermaid Trading Company, Larelle enjoys riding her dirt bike, boating with her family, hiking in Yosemite and working out with her husband. She’s an alternate member of the California Cherry Advisory Board, and is proud to have recently helped the California cherry industry in its relief efforts for earthquake victims in Japan.
